We provide comprehensive services that include, medical, dental, early detection for breast & cervical cancer, vision care, and respite care for homeless men. Services are provided at a variety of times and places to make our services more accessible for our patients to access.
The Women's Health Initiative (WHI) was started in 1995 to provide Gennesaret's female patient population with access to early detection services for breast and cervical cancer. In fiscal year 2013, the Women's Health Initiative provided 136 well woman exams and 205 mammograms. This program would not be possible without the partnership of the St. Vincent Hospital Breast Center and 3 volunteer OB-GYN's and a women's mid-level practitioner.
The WHI Director outreaches to women at the Blue Triangle Wellness Center, Wheeler Mission's Women and Children's Center Family Shelter, St. Vincent DePaul Client Choice Food Pantry and the Westminster Neighborhood Food Pantry.
